At Papilio Box Hill, we’re proud to provide high-quality early education and care for children aged 0–5 years in a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is supported to grow in confidence, curiosity, and capability. Our dedicated team includes a number of qualified Early Childhood Teachers (ECTs) who bring passion and professional expertise to every interaction. Many of our educators are bilingual and speak languages such as Japanese, Malay, Mandarin, Cantonese, English, and Bengali — helping children feel seen, supported, and celebrated in their cultural identity. In our kindergarten room, children also participate in Mandarin lessons and access our bilingual library, with resources available in both English and Mandarin.

We proudly deliver the Lifelong Learning Curriculum, with enriching programs in STEM, language, literacy, and creative play. Our kindergarten children enjoy weekly STEM and cooking classes, while our toddler and nursery rooms also participate in age-appropriate cooking experiences. We also offer fortnightly yoga sessions for all age groups and phonics lessons to support early literacy.

Strong community connections are at the heart of our approach. We partner with HealthAbility to support children’s developmental needs through occupational and speech therapy, and regularly welcome visitors from local services. These include storytime sessions with St Francis Xavier and the local librarian, police visits, and our annual Native Wildlife incursion, linked to our Aussie Wildlife Champions program.

Every day, our centre chef Lianne — who brings over 40 years of culinary experience — prepares nutritious and delicious meals, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and a late snack.
