Gathering data and analysing this information on what your child knows and is interested in is the primary catalyst to support the ongoing planning cycle. Early Childhood Teachers and Educators understand the pivotal importance of family input when determining goals for children and how that will influence the educational program. Within the School Readiness Room, data is captured through a variety of forms which then informs planning that aligns with the National Quality Standards that are delivered through the Lifelong Learning Curriculum.

Affinity Education Group has partnered with the University of Wollongong to support our Teachers and Educators working with the School Readiness room children aged 4-5. The Early Years Toolbox is a reliable and tangible assessment and data collection tool to support Teachers and Educators planning for your child's goals. The Early Years Toolbox is an app-based assessment tool encompassing key learning and development areas. This platform utilises five interactive games that assess children's:

  • Working Memory
  • Impulse Control
  • Maths
  • Vocabulary
  • Auditory Processing of Instructions

Recording Your Child's Progress

Your child's progress in each interactive game is scored and benchmarked against an extensive database at the University of Wollongong. This enables educators and teachers to use this data accurately as a reliable form of assessment for and of learning. This form of data collection supports Teachers and Educators to:

  • Identify opportunities for future planning.
  • Ensure your child has experiences to support them in reaching their full potential.
  • This is an avenue to connect with families by sharing accurate and relevant information regarding how their child's learning is progressing.

Once the data has been collated, families will receive results through the online progress records, which contain educators' reflections on each social, emotional, and physical health and well-being and foundational learning skill. Families are then encouraged to collaboratively construct and set goals with educators to further support their child's lifelong learning journey.
