Our centres celebrated Harmony Day by creating activities that are designed to provide meaningful learning opportunities, whilst having fun!
This week one of our NSW based centres, Papilio Early Learning Bella Vista organised a variety of activities across the age groups including a coloured rice and legume sensory tray in the nursery room, creating orange hand print garlands in the toddlers room, hand print painting in the prep room and icing biscuits with bright orange icing centre wide for afternoon tea.
The children loved the afternoon tea treat with icing biscuits as it promotes the development of their senses as well as social and emotional skills but was also a fun and safe activity for the children to enjoy.
Bianca Farrar, Senior Centre Manager, at Papilio Early Learning Bella Vista said, “With the variety of experiences offered, the children got to explore their senses as well as their social and emotional skills as we danced and sang and discussed the importance of friendship and inclusivity. The prep room also really enjoyed a book called Just The Way We Are which promotes the importance of loving our families just the way they are and acknowledges just how special each family is, regardless of their dynamic.”
