New Centre Coming Soon in Tamworth

Purpose Built for Quality Education - Papilio Early Learning Tamworth

We are proud to announce Papilio Early Learning Tamworth will be open for fun and learning in early 2023!

Papilio Early Learning Tamworth is our second purpose-built centre in New South Wales, following the development of Papilio Early Learning Schofields, which opened in April 2022.

Katrina Masluk, Centre Manager at Papilio Early Learning Schofields, said, “We as a team were very proud and excited to be the first purpose-built Affinity Education Group Centre in NSW. We love that we can work within a space that has been designed in collaboration with educators and with children’s best interests in mind. Its design is fresh, modern, sustainable and promotes Affinity’s Lifelong Learning Curriculum programs whilst creating a home away from home for the children who attend.”

“The response we have received from our families and local community shows they are pleased with how our centre's location and facilities were designed with their lifestyles, work commitments and community network in mind,” she said.

Affinity Education Group State Manager Tori Robinson said the successful launch of Papilio Early Learning Schofields attracted more than 1000 children on its initial waitlist, combined with Affinity’s passion to provide quality education programs through The Lifelong Learning Curriculum has driven expansion plans in growing communities.

Breaking ground on November 8th, the newest Papilio Early Learning Centre by Affinity Education Group will be located at number 12 In Street Tamworth, New South Wales, as part of the new “Tamworth Hub”, a redevelopment of the historic Tamworth Workman’s Club site. The fit-out will be carried out by Rockbuild and is expected to be completed by March 2023.

Krista Lynch, Area Manager for Affinity Education Group, cannot contain her enthusiasm, stating, “I am really excited about the opening of Papilio Early Learning Tamworth and the exciting opportunities it will bring to our community. This development provides a range of employment and training opportunities for the early childhood sector here in Tamworth, as well as offering exciting programs that focus on developing literacy, numeracy, and early socialisation skills in a quality environment for children aged 0-5 years.”

“Sarah McCluand, a much loved and very experienced Centre Manager currently based at our Milestones Early Learning Tamworth CBD centre, will be moving over to run our beautiful new centre, and I know that she is also just as excited as I am to welcome all our new families and children in through those doors.”

Sarah started at Milestones CBD as a trainee over 8 years ago and has worked her way up from Lead Educator to Educational Leader, then Workplace Health and Safety Officer 3IC, Assistant Centre Manager, and Centre Manager and is now recognised by Affinity Education Group as a Senior Centre Manager.

“She is the best person for the job. Sarah is super keen to get into the centre and to make it a home-like environment where the children love to come every day,” Krista said.

Once opened, Papilio Early Learning Tamworth will be licenced to provide a safe place for up to 68 children to learn and grow. Our age-appropriate environments will include 4 age-specific rooms for ages 0-24 months, 12-2 months, 2-3 years, and 3-5 years; Plans also include two large outdoor play areas.

Designed in collaboration with our Quality, Compliance and Education teams, the carefully thought-out design will allow our qualified, passionate Educators, Teachers and Centre Managers best-in-class facilities to deliver our Lifelong Learning Curriculum from nursery to preschool.

Krista continued, “There is a high demand for quality early education and care. With our three Milestones Centres in Tamworth currently experiencing large waitlists, we know this new centre will relieve those families.”

With our expanding Affinity Education community now including more than 200 early education and care centres around Australia, we have ambitious growth plans for 2023 and beyond.
